We're Going To Give You Some Of Your Money, But Here's How To Spend It

If this is a sign of things to come, then life under Gordon Brown is going to get significantly worse. "Every pregnant women in the UK is to be given cash for fruit and vegetables to boost the health of their unborn child".

You could not make it up. Only a governement could be taking more money off people than ever before, have the audacity to hand a tiny proportion of it back to a subset of its people and have the arrogance to proclaim that when they do so it should be spent on a specific purpose.

Let's just be absolutely clear what's happening with this "Health in Pregnancy Grant". Gordon takes the money from pregant women. He keeps most of it, but gives a little bit of it back and expects it to be spent on certain things. And those pregnant women are supposed to be grateful.

Pardon me for being dim, but why not just let people keep their money in the first place ?
