Spinning On The Web

Here's why I can't stand party politics any more. We've got two Tories spinning on Peter Hain (actually hundreds of them are at it, but two who have caught my eye today).

Guido tells us that Peter Hain is getting lots of visible support in the Commons chamber from Labour MPs and suggests that they're just doing what theyve been told by the whips.

Meanwhile Iain Dale would have us believe that a debate attended by Hain (as it covers his policy area) is going to be wound up early because of the lack of Labour MPs willing to show up in his support. They can't both be right.

It also makes you wonder about all the other stuff you read. If two respected bloggers can't agree on how many MPs are showing up to support the guy, what hope is there for stories about slush funds, popularity or supposedly sleazy lobbyists ?

"Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive".

All politicians weave a tangled web, some are however worse than others. Mind you the media and now the bloggers often push them into things.

Whoops,

Forgot I was logged in as Charlie dog. Follow the link to his site if you like, his poem at the bottom of the page tells his story.
