You can tell that parts of the public sector are overmanned. The DVLA, for instance. These guys must be seriously short of things to do.
How else could anyone possibly sit down and think through all the number plates that have to be banned on the off-chance that someone finds them offensive ? And why the hell should 054MA be banned, just because it looks like "Osama", as in "bin Laden" ? But wait, there's more. Others to have got the chop include H057AGE, MA56ACA and even (reportedly) B004ZY, in case it looks too like "Boozy" and encourages anyone to take advantage of the government's licensing laws.
A spokesman for the DVLA told The Sun: "Every number is checked to ensure it does not offend". OK then, idiots - what about this one, especially for you ?
