For Services To The Nation...


...this guy deserves some kind of award.
Last week Sir Michael Scholar vehemently criticised the government's flagrant abuse of knife crime statistics. In so doing, not only did he nail a piece of New Labour spin so comprehensively that not even they felt able to defend it, but he also forced Robert Mugabe's Most Improved Pupil into issuing an apology to the House of Commons.
Even so Jacqui Smith put whatever gloss she could on it: "“I am sorry that I think we were too quick off the mark with the publication of one number...". Which itself is a blatant lie. She's not remotely sorry they did it - only that they got caught.
Meanwhile, I wonder how many counter-terrorism officers they're going to send to Sir Michael's home ?
