Sign Of The Times

I'm indebted to a correspondent (and fellow blogger as it turns out) for bringing these people to my attention. Such is the bureaucratic burden on business now that the Yorkshire and Humber Chambers of Commerce have set up a body especially to give advice to their members.

It really does say a lot about trying to run a business in Britan today that it's necessary to have entire organisations devoted to giving advice about things like Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Leave, Religious Belief and Sexual Orientation and (the thing that caught my correspondent's eye) the need for a licence to play music in the workplace, even if the public can't hear it.

It's a wonder anyone ever makes any money in this country, bearing in mind all the rubbish they have to keep up with.
